This movie predates the much better known The Karate Kid by four years, and though a low-budget film, has some good moments and a really great funk soundtrack!

While the one small family gets some help with their vehicle, not far away, members of another are just setting up camp.

The plot thickens as young Carol unexpectedly makes the acquaintance of the two boys and the hillbillies report back to Ma that there's a bundle of loot to be made just over the ridge.

On their way to the hootenanny, the teenagers are getting better acquainted and, at the hootenanny, the adults seem to have forgotten the harsh words they'd exchanged earlier in the day.

In this episode: At the hootenanny, young and old are enjoying themselves, when Carol's dog comes up missing. The boys Woody and Zack offer to help search for him. In the dark of night, danger lies lurking and something serious goes wrong!

Events of the night reveal that Carol has mysteriously disappeared. Her folks are worried to death and, subsequently, tempers flare when they suspect that the boys may be to blame.

The kidnappers attempt to convince Ma to go along with their plan to demand a ransom. Meanwhile, family members of the missing teenagers are worried sick and seek the help of the authorities.

While the kidnappers paste together a ransom note, the missing teenagers' desperate loved ones find themselves forced to deal with the local incompetent authorities.

The kidnappers drop off the family's pet dog Rufus with the ransom note tied around his neck. The frantic family then discovers and shows it to the sheriff and his son the deputy. Watch this episode and see how they'll respond!

There is a lot of action in this episode: the FBI arrives at long last; meanwhile... the boys beat the 'em to the punch doing some pretty good detective work themselves. Take a look!
